Order the steps for installing a new residential water service from the main to the house.

1Excavate trench from main to building (below frost line)

2Obtain permit and call 811 for utility locates

3Backfill trench in lifts and restore surface

4Sleeve pipe through foundation wall and install main shutoff inside

5Run service pipe (Type K copper or approved material) in trench

6Install corporation stop at water main with wet tap

7Pressure test service line at 1.5x working pressure for 2 hours

8Install curb stop and curb box at property line
