Union Training: Smoke Damper in Duct Penetration

Scenario

A SMACNA apprentice installs a combination fire/smoke damper where a supply duct penetrates a 2-hour fire-rated wall. The damper is a UL listed assembly with a properly sized sleeve, fire caulk at the wall penetration, and the smoke damper actuator is interlocked to the building fire alarm system for automatic closure on alarm.
