Order the steps for connecting a standby generator with an automatic transfer switch.

1Connect utility (normal) power to ATS line side

2Simulate power outage and verify automatic start, transfer, and retransfer

3Run conduit and conductors from generator to automatic transfer switch (ATS)

4Program ATS for transfer settings and exercise schedule

5Install the generator on a level concrete pad with required clearances

6Install the ATS adjacent to the main panel

7Connect ATS load side to emergency panel or selected circuits

8Connect generator output to ATS generator side
