Generator Load Bank Test

Sequence the steps for performing a full load bank test on a standby diesel generator.

1Remove load incrementally, run at no-load for cool-down, then shutdown

2Increase to 100% rated load and run for minimum 2 hours per NFPA 110

3Verify fuel day tank level and fuel supply system operation

4Increase to 50% rated load and monitor temperatures and pressures

5Start generator at no-load and verify stable voltage and frequency

6Increase to 75% rated load and verify all parameters within limits

7Apply 25% load from load bank and monitor for 30 minutes

8Inspect generator — check oil level, coolant, belts, and battery charger
